P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy’s Elite Youth Camp Returns to Montego Bay, July 3–6, 2025

The beautiful North Coast of Jamaica will once again play host to one of the island’s fastest-growing youth basketball experiences — the 2025 Rising Stars Camp & Showcase, taking place July 3–6 in Montego Bay.

Now in its third year, the camp has grown to welcome over 80 participants, drawing elite talent from ages 11 to 19 across the island, and increasingly from abroad. As the only elite basketball camp on Jamaica’s North Coast, it offers athletes a unique opportunity to combine high-level training and competition with the beauty and culture of the island’s top tourist destination.

“The Rising Stars Camp is more than just basketball. It’s about giving Jamaican youth an elite-level experience and opening the door to international opportunities while showing off the best of our country,” said Wayne Dawkins, Camp Director and Global Director of P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy Jamaica. “Montego Bay is the perfect backdrop for that.”

✈️ An International Basketball and Cultural Exchange

Returning this summer is Coach Riley Rhodes, a veteran coach and respected trainer from Pennsylvania, who will again lead a delegation of American players and coaches. Their involvement raises the overall competitive level of the camp and fosters meaningful cultural exchange between Jamaican and U.S. youth.

“The level of talent in Jamaica is incredible,” said *Coach Riley Rhodes*, who’s led U.S. teams in multiple Caribbean camps. “Being able to compete, learn, and share culture on and off the court is what keeps me and my players coming back.”

“Coach Rhodes brings a different perspective and high standards that our players absorb quickly,” added *Dave Black*, Camp Coordinator and Director of P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy Jamaica. “The exposure our youth get in this environment is game-changing.”

📍 Camp Schedule and Focus

Held across Herbert Morrison High School and Montego Bay Community College, the 4-day event blends skill development, 3x3 and 5x5 competitions, team-building, and a high-energy **Showcase and All-Star Game* to close. Each day is designed to simulate the structure and expectations of an elite international basketball camp.

Participants are trained in shooting, ball handling, game IQ, defense, and athletic testing — then immediately placed into competitive settings where their growth is measured, mentored, and celebrated.

With meals, transportation, and accommodations coordinated for guests traveling from Kingston and beyond, the Rising Stars Camp is an accessible, affordable, and impactful summer event for any serious young baller.
