Updated: Oct 19, 2023

P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy, founded with a commitment to nurture budding basketball talents, has become a beacon of hope for aspiring young athletes. The Academy's comprehensive approach to player development extends across multiple teams, each serving a unique purpose and collectively forming a formidable front in the world of basketball. Let's dive into the three distinct divisions of P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy, where dreams take center stage and dedication reigns supreme.

U19 Post-Grad Team: Bridging the Gap to Collegiate Success

For high school graduates with an unwavering passion for basketball and an eye on college opportunities, the Post-Grad Team is the launchpad to their dreams. These young athletes come to P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy seeking that extra edge in their game, looking for opportunities to hone their skills and gain the exposure necessary to impress college coaches and scouts.

This year, the Post-Grad Team is gearing up for an exciting journey, with travel destinations set in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. The aim? To showcase their skills and make their presence known to the collegiate basketball community. Their dedicated training, both individually and collectively, is the cornerstone of their growth. The Academy's unique regional pods in Kingston and Montego Bay provide players with intensive skill development sessions. However, the culmination of their preparation happens at the P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy National Training Center, housed at GC Foster College and Montego Bay Community College. It's here that they bond as a team, refining their game and building a foundation for success in collegiate basketball.

U17 Varsity Team: Where the Best Thrive

In the U17 Varsity division, P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy assembles the best high school players, not just from Jamaica but also from the United States, where players of Jamaican descent join the ranks. This mix of talent and backgrounds creates a dynamic, competitive environment, where the players strive to reach new heights.

Their journey is no less exciting, as they set their sights on Florida, Georgia, and Texas. While the primary goal is to compete, this exposure trip is their chance to impress college coaches and scouts, paving the way for future opportunities in collegiate basketball.

Training for these top-tier athletes follows a similar structure to the Post-Grad Team, with regional pods in Kingston and Montego Bay and a culminating training experience at the National Training Center.

U16 Jr. Varsity Team: Nurturing Tomorrow's Stars

The U16 Jr. Varsity Team is a testament to P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy's commitment to identifying and developing young talent. Comprising rising stars aged 13 to 16 from Jamaica and the United States, these promising athletes are preparing to make their mark in the world of basketball.

While the focus for this team is primarily on development and local showcases, the Jr. Varsity Team doesn't shy away from international competition. This year, they're setting their sights on Florida and Pennsylvania, with the aim to gain invaluable experience and exposure from college coaches and scouts.

Just like their counterparts, the Jr. Varsity Team's training is extensive and strategic, utilizing regional pods and the National Training Center to provide the players with the best possible foundation for their future basketball journeys.

In conclusion, P.H.A.S.E. 1 Academy's multi-tiered approach to player development ensures that young athletes have access to top-notch coaching, opportunities for growth, and avenues for exposure to college coaches and scouts. It's a system built to help these aspiring athletes elevate their game, realize their collegiate dreams, and leave a lasting impact on the world of basketball. The journey is challenging, but the rewards are immeasurable, making every ounce of sweat and dedication worth the effort.
