BP1 Academy - Philadelphia, PA - Feb7-8, 2020
The BP1 Academy varsity basketball team braved the elements the past weekend to travel to Philadelphia and New Jersey for two tough games. The first game was a heartbreaking loss against Pioneer Prep, New Jersey. The BP1 boys commanded the game for the first half, led by the games leading scorer, senior guard Elijah Anderson's who finished with 22pts. But Pioner Prep clawed back in the second half, making some very difficult shots, and taking the victory. The second game versus NextUp Prep, Philadelphia was an even tougher match up. NextUp Prep was an older team with lots of experience. Despite the odds against them, BP1 battled right to the end, losing a close game. BP1 had a balanced attack with Miguel Bruan, Keyonte Smith, Elijah Anderson, Nathaniel Simms all registering double figures in scoring. BP1 Academy travels to Phoenix Arizona next week for a 7 game west coast trip. Both the varsity and junior varsity teams will be in action. Good luck boys!!
